Ok kids here's the deal about college football. Root for Tech.
What? You don't care about football. Did I mention if Tech wins you
get Skittles.

Jordans

They've come out with the newest Jordans (left) and the latest retro old school Jordans (right). If your 32 you can't help but think of 8th grade and that kid (the coolest of all kids) who rolled through the halls sporting these salty duds. You can only buy these new shoes if you buy both pair for $351. Criminal or Genius?

A co-worker recently ask me, "Is there a blog out there for everything?" With supreme confidence I answered yes.

Injured...Injured Bad

Not all of us braved the class 3 rapids without retribution . My fearless father-in-law got a nasty bruise after he was violently tossed from the raft during a free fall over a 200ft waterfall. It was either a waterfall or he jumped out in a mild mannered stream. I can't remember exactly. At any rate, he wasn't injured as bad as the guy in this story.

Network Breakdown

If you could only watch TV from one major network for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

Olympics

100 meters- In 1999 Maurice Green set the record at 9.79. It lasted for 6 six years until 2005. In the last 3 years the record has been broken 6 times. Bolt's record might have lasted another 6 years if he hadn't moonwalked across the finish line.

Hot Sports Opinion-Aside from Tiger Woods, Bolt's victory was the most amazing thing I've seen in sports in the last decade. All the Phelps stuff is great, but the difference is that it looked like Phelps was trying.

Oldest dude-At the 1920 Olympics in Antwerp, Swedish shooter Oscar Swahn collected a silver medal in the team double-shot running deer competition, becoming at age 72 the oldest Olympic medalist ever.

Horse talk- How does my horse get to China? Boeing 747, pressurized cargo bin, in a full metal crate. The reasons the equestrian events are not being held in Beijing is because horses are particularly prone to respiratory illnesses and Beijing could not guarantee a disease-free zone.

When it rains....it pours.

Well, we are back.

Back from a long weekend in Ohio, then a week in Colorado.  Both trips were fantastic - and we were able to see all of our family members from both sides of the family!  We even got to meet our newest niece Audrey, who is SO sweet!

Ryan did a good job blogging while on the trips, but I usually have too much to say to blog from my phone, so I decided to wait until we got home.  What I didn't know is that while we were away our computer seemed to be attacked by some lovely virus that appears to be fatal.  So sad.  It wouldn't be all that bad really, if, while we were gone our TV receiver didn't also break, and, if, our fridge didn't leak water all over our kitchen floor (cue violin music), and, if, it didn't reach the point that because of some leak in our bathroom wall (not good) we really need to replace our bathroom cabinet & floor.  maw.

Okay - enough complaining......here is some good news - Ryan got offered a new job today!  It's in the same department - same company - just a step up from where he was.  Yes, he's that good.
And some even more exciting news - Jeff & Chandra are expecting their first baby!!  Due in February!   They told the family on our Colorado trip & we couldn't be happier for them!

Hopefully we will get some things up and running around here & I will post some pictures soon.  I should have a lot to choose from - I think Erik & Yuriko took over 300 of our week in Colorado.  You can look forward to that.  :)

Underneath This Smile

Just got back from Colorado and my tv receiver is toast. (Note to self: Stop making fun of people who call power strips, surge protectors). My computer contacted a deadly virus and appears terminal, and my dog has worms. In the infinite lyrical wisdom of Hilary Duff, "Underneath this smile my world is slowly caving in".

Don't believe I have this shot in my repertoire. Unless of course I'm carrying a garden spade as my 14th club.

Dal to Yqr

We all know that driving from Dallas, Tx to Regina, Sk Canada takes about 25 hours (or 4 full viewing of Lonesome Dove). How long does is take to walk?
