I have been driving over half my life. That's why it is supremely embarrassing to admit (although I do so under the all comforting mask of the Internet) that yesterday when I replaced my windshield wipers, I learned the driver and passenger wipers are different sizes.

That's news to me too. Who knew??? From the photo, I just thought one of your wipers had just gone wonky. :-)
