Serves me right...

for leaving my nail polish out. She decided to paint her own nails....I guess it's good that it's close to Halloween!

I helped her finish. Can you tell which ones she did & which ones I did?

:)

Aunt Jan

My Mom is from a family of 5 girls. FIVE.

Mom is number 3 in the line up, and my Aunt Jan, number 2, came to visit this past week.

We had a great time with her - shopping, talking, shopping, laughing, shopping, reminiscing, shopping.... you get the idea.

My Aunt Jan is such a great lady, it was so fun to spend time with her!

Fall Festival

Our church's fall festival carnival was last Friday night. The kids were VERY excited to put on their costumes, and go have fun! I didn't get great pictures, but if you head over to Ryan's blog, he did a great video of the night.

Cinderella and Mickey were glad to see each other,

All the cousins were there, so fun!

Wolverine did not wear his mask, he thought it would be too scary for the other kids.

The other kids thank you, Wolverine.

Best Deal Ever?

My first thought was: "How much can physically fit in my car"

Faded Glory Blue Jeans

My new jeans cost $8 at wal-mart. As my comedic wife lovingly pointed
out; not only do the jeans fit perfectly, but the name brand
perfectly fits my stage of life.

Football Night

Tonight was Family Night #3.......Football night.

We all wore our Texas Tech shirts,

Set the table as a field,

had nachos for dinner,

and football brownies for dessert.

After dinner we played flag football in the backyard. I didn't really know how this was going to go over, but the kids LOVED it. It was so much fun!

Does she look a force to be reckoned with or what!? :)

It shouldn't be a surprise that there was some tackling involved!

It was a great night!

An Army of Three

Today as we were jumping on the trampoline today, this guy decided to pay us a visit.

Unfortunately I think I have passed on my hatred for bugs to my little ones, so, instead of us leaving him alone and him leaving us alone, we decided to wage battle.

We went inside and picked our weapons.

Larson with the flyswatter.
Secily, the Black Spiderman costume (yes, this was totally her choice!)
Me, the broom.

The mighty hunters were victorious. :)

I knew it would happen eventually....

but I didn't know that it would happen so early. What? you ask?

This:

These are the things that came out of the grocery bags today when I got home that I did not put into the grocery cart!
The day was long, and (stupid me) I left the grocery shopping to the very end of the day. The kids were tired, as was I, so I had them sitting in the enormous bus-of-a-shopping-cart that is made for mothers who are insane enough to take 3 children to the store. :)
It happened about aisle 3, a certain gleam came into Larson's eye and he darted - out of the cart, grabbed a can and dashed back to his spot. This was followed by hysterical laughing by both Larson & Secily. I was glad that they were now enjoying themselves instead of complaining, so I let them keep dashing back & forth & would just put back what they were taking as we were walking along. All was going well. Then......

I ran into a friend. A friend I hadn't seen in a long while, and she had a new baby. So, I was ooohing, and aaahhhing over the sweet baby, meanwhile my babies, were LOADING up the cart.
After putting back 15 cans of green beans, I thought I had gotten it all.

Apparently not.

I do find it hilarious that out of the 6 items that slid past, only one of them is something that they actually like. I mean seriously....canned olives & tartar sauce. Hilarious!

October

Well, hello October. Here we are halfway through the month, and it's time to catch up!
Let's see....
First, we sold our house! Ack! We put it on the market, and it sold the next day! No, we don't have a place to go yet, but we have some time. Closing date is Nov. 16, and we are hoping to find a new place sometime before then!

Second, Jane turned 6 months. Half a year. She is such a sweetie, we are loving every minute with her.
She's doing a little sitting up these days
Third, I took a little trip to Boston! I went with my good friends to celebrate a wedding - and we had a GRrrrreaT time!

I took a little detour on the way home, and got to meet my new sweet niece Elise! So fun - she is a beauty.

Family Man

When you've gone to the same mechanic for more than 8 yrs....Let's be
honest, he's like family.
